The Importance of Dog Training

Dog training is important for dogs of all ages because it helps promote good behavior, enhances communication between dogs and their families, and strengthens the human-canine bond. Contrary to popular belief, there is no age cutoff for effective dog training. Dogs are incredibly smart, and they can learn and adapt at any stage of life. Because a professional dog training service provides structured learning, expert guidance, and the most humane, effective training methods, it plays a critical role in ensuring that dogs get the training and support they deserve.

Bringing your dog to Chino’s Caring Kennel offers numerous benefits, including access to certified dog trainers with years of experience, personalized K-9 training service plans tailored to your dog’s needs, and a positive reinforcement approach that fosters trust and obedience. This helps create a harmonious and fulfilling relationship between you and your canine companion, leading to a happier and healthier life together.

Training Options

We develop personalized training programs for dogs of every behavioral background, breed and age -whether they need advanced support for reactivity or aggression as adults or beginner obedience training as puppies. Our services are tailored to fit your dog’s unique needs, with options like comprehensive board and train, dynamic group classes, and one-on-one private lessons.

Private Lessons

If your dog requires extra attention or you prefer a more personal approach to training, private lessons may be the ideal option. These one-on-one sessions are specifically designed to meet your dog’s individual training goals and behavioral needs. Whether your focus is on preparing for advanced training, curbing bad habits, or improving obedience, our skilled trainers will develop a personalized plan for success. Private sessions are also ideal for dogs that struggle in group settings, offering a comfortable and focused learning environment that progresses at your dog’s pace.

Board and Train

Our board and train program offers an intensive and structured approach to training while providing your dog with a top-tier boarding experience. This program allows dogs to focus on obedience and behavioral development while being cared for in a secure, well-managed facility. With a consistent training schedule and hands-on reinforcement, dogs make meaningful progress throughout their stay. By the end of the program, dogs will have gained valuable training in a supervised, controlled setting.

Behavior Modification

Behavioral challenges like aggression, reactivity, anxiety, or excessive barking can make life difficult for both dogs and their owners. Our specialized behavior modification programs are designed to address these concerns through personalized training methods that encourage composure and confidence. By applying reward-based training and expert strategies, we help transform negative behaviors into more positive actions, leading to a stronger bond between you and your pet. If your dog struggles with fear-related issues or needs help managing impulses, our patient trainers are here to support their growth.

AKC® Dog Training

Strengthen your bond with your dog through AKC® Trick Dog and Urban CGC training at Chino’s Caring Kennel. Join our AKC® Trick Dog Class and embark on a fun-filled journey with your furry companion! Over 6 weeks, your dog will learn a variety of exciting tricks, such as shaking paws, spinning in circles, high-fiving, barking on cue, crawling, jumping through a hoop, playing dead, and more. Your dog can earn an AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title by demonstrating a set number of tricks.

The Novice test requires showcasing 10 tricks (5 if they have a CGC title), while Intermediate adds another 10 tricks. Led by AKC®-approved CGC Evaluators, our class is open to dogs aged 6 months and older with prerequisite completion of Basic Obedience or equivalent training. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for bonding, skill-building, and fun with your canine companion!

Join our AKC® CGC dog training services for a focused and practical approach to canine behavior in public spaces. This class prepares your dog for outdoor challenges like crowds, traffic, stores, and more. Prerequisites include the Canine Good Citizen title and an AKC® registration number. Note that aggressive behavior isn’t permitted.

Group Classes

In a structured group class, dogs socialize with other dogs and people in a controlled setting while practicing obedience skills. Training alongside others helps improve appropriate behavior, focus, and impulse control, even when distractions are present. These classes are beneficial for dogs at all levels, from those mastering foundational manners to those progressing in their training. Plus, group training sessions create a fun and dynamic opportunity for you and your dog to strengthen your connection through engaging and interactive learning.

Obedience Training

Join our Group Obedience courses for a delightful and successful approach to training your dog. Alongside other owners and dogs, you’ll share experiences and work with a dedicated local dog trainer. Each week, you’ll enjoy hour-long sessions alongside daily 45-minute practice sessions, focusing on handling common behavioral challenges and fundamental commands such as loose leash walking, sit and down stays, recall, and heel. Furthermore, we give attention to reinforcing obedience commands in the face of distractions up to 30 feet away, emphasizing the importance of nutrition and physical activity, and instilling proper greeting manners. Enhance your dog’s abilities through our Intermediate Obedience Training levels, structured to prepare them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, providing a well-mannered pet certification and legal advantages. Experience the joy of a well-behaved and socially adept dog with our program!

Service Dog Training

Our Placentia service dog training is a comprehensive program led by a certified service dog trainer. A K-9 trainer will begin with a free consultation and assessment to determine your dog’s suitability and assistance needs. Your service dog trainer in Placentia will then tailor a K-9 training protocol across three stages, including group classes like Basic, CGC Level I & II, and Urban Canine, as well as board and train options, private field lessons, and in-home or off-site private lessons with a local K-9 trainer. Testing for certifications like AKC Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Community Canine®, Urban Canine Good Citizen®, and a Public Access Test will be included.

The training is thorough and demanding, so some dogs won’t meet the standards or be suitable, but successful completion earns a Certification ID card. If you are physically able to get involved, your K-9 trainer in Placentia will talk to you about why your participation and readiness for instruction and lessons are critical aspects of your dog’s comprehensive training. Reach out to us for more details and to arrange an appointment for your consultation.
