Training Options
Our dog training programs are structured to accommodate dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavior types – from early-stage obedience training for puppies to more advanced work with reactive or aggressive dogs. Our services include engaging group classes, private one-on-one sessions, and in-depth board and train options tailored to your dog’s needs.
Service Dog Training
Discover our La Verne service dog training – a detailed program guided by a certified service dog trainer. The process begins with our K-9 trainer offering a free consultation and assessment to ascertain your dog’s suitability and assistance needs. Upon completing the initial consultation, your service dog trainer in La Verne will tailor a K-9 training program covering three phases. These stages include group sessions like Basic, Urban Canine, and CGC Level I & II, as well as one-on-one sessions either at home or at an off-site location with a local K-9 trainer, board and train options, and private field sessions. Your dog’s training will incorporate assessments for credentials like Urban Canine Good Citizen®, AKC Canine Good Citizen®, a Public Access Test, and AKC Community Canine®..
While the training is demanding, not all dogs will pass, and some may not be good candidates, those who do pass the course will receive a Certification ID card upon successful completion. If you are physically able to get involved, your K-9 trainer in La Verne will inform you that your participation and readiness for instruction and lessons are critical aspects of your dog’s comprehensive training. Get in touch with us for more information and to arrange your consultation session.
Behavior Modification
Some dogs face behavioral issues such as excessive barking, aggression, anxiety, or reactivity, which can cause difficulties in their everyday lives. Our behavior modification programs target these challenges with customized training strategies that promote self-restraint and confidence. Using positive reinforcement and expert techniques, we work to replace negative behaviors with appropriate responses, fostering a more stable relationship between you and your pet. If your dog needs assistance overcoming fear-based reactions or improving impulse control, our trainers are committed to their progress.
Board and Train
Our board and train program offers a structured learning experience combined with comfortable boarding for your dog. Throughout their stay, expert trainers will work closely with your dog to reinforce positive behaviors and encourage steady progress. Throughout their stay, dogs receive personalized attention and structured training that promotes steady progress. Whether you’re a busy owner or looking for an immersive training solution, this program offers a highly effective approach in a structured setting.
Obedience Training
Experience the fun and success of our Group Obedience courses. You’ll take part in a small group setting of owners and their dogs, where you’ll engage with a committed local dog trainer. Each week, you’ll enjoy hour-long sessions alongside daily 45-minute practice sessions, focusing on handling common behavioral challenges and fundamental commands such as recall, down and sit stays, heel, and loose leash walking. We also give priority to reinforcing obedience commands with distractions up to 30 feet away, teaching appropriate greetings, and emphasizing the importance of nutrition and physical activity. Improve your dog’s capabilities through our Intermediate Obedience Training tiers, geared towards equipping them for AKC® Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine assessments, granting a well-mannered pet certification and legal benefits. Let us help your dog achieve excellence in obedience and social manners!
AKC® Dog Training
Chino’s Caring Kennel is your go-to for AKC® Trick Dog and Urban CGC training. Take part in the AKC® Trick Dog Class at Chino’s Caring Kennel and cherish unforgettable moments with your loyal companion! Over the course of 6 weeks, your furry friend will acquire a range of fun tricks like high-fiving, jumping through a hoop, barking on command, playing dead, crawling, shaking paws, spinning in circles, and additional tricks. Your dog has the opportunity to earn an AKC® “Novice” or “Intermediate” Trick Dog Title by exhibiting a required number of tricks.
For the Novice evaluation, your dog must demonstrate 10 tricks (or 5 with a CGC title), and Intermediate adds another set of 10 tricks. Supervised by AKC®-certified CGC Evaluators, our workshop is suitable for dogs aged 6 months and beyond who have fulfilled the prerequisites of Basic Obedience or similar training. Make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to bond, refine abilities, and create lasting memories with your furry companion!
Join our AKC® CGC dog training sessions for a targeted and results-oriented strategy toward enhancing canine behavior in public spaces. Train your dog to tackle outdoor challenges such as crowds, traffic, and store outings with this class. Prerequisites consist of earning the Canine Good Citizen certification and possessing an AKC® registration ID number. Take note that aggressive behavior is against the rules.
Private Lessons
If your dog requires extra attention or you prefer a more personal approach to training, private lessons may be the ideal option. These one-on-one sessions are customized to address your dog’s individual behavior goals and training needs. Whether the focus is on working toward specialized skills, advancing obedience, or correcting problem behaviors, our experienced trainers will develop a tailored training strategy. Private training is also well-suited for dogs that find group environments overwhelming, allowing them to progress in a focused and comfortable setting.
Group Classes
In a structured group environment, dogs can socialize with both people and other dogs while working on obedience skills. Training in this setting strengthens impulse control, enhances focus, and promotes appropriate behavior, even when distractions are present. These classes are a great option for dogs learning basic manners and commands, as well as those refining their obedience skills. Plus, group training offers an enjoyable and interactive way for you and your dog to connect and build a stronger relationship through shared learning.
