Chino's Caring Kennel has boarded dogs and cats at 3890 Walnut Ave in Chino since 1971. Dogs stay in indoor/outdoor runs and cats in their own suites with jumping shelves, in temperature-controlled buildings that are sanitized daily. Boarding is $42 a night for dogs under 40 lb, $46 for dogs 40 lb and over, and $30 for cats, with one playtime a day included. We board pets from Chino, Chino Hills, Ontario, Pomona, Montclair, Yorba Linda & more.

Checkout and charges

  • Charges are by calendar day. Pick up by 1:00 PM and that day is not charged.
  • A groom on pickup day means no boarding charge for that day, whatever the pickup time.
  • Late check-in after 5:45 PM: $10.
  • Holiday and seasonal peaks add $5 per dog per day. 2026 peaks include Thanksgiving, Nov 24–30, and Christmas, Dec 21 to Jan 4. The full list is on Hours & Rates.
  • A $5 enticing fee per reservation covers coaxing picky eaters.
  • Monthly rates are available with advance payment.

  • Two pets sharing one accommodation: first pet at the regular rate, second pet $4 off each night.
  • Seniors and military: 10% off boarding charges. Mention it at check-in.

Vaccines and exams at the kennel

Chino's Caring Kennel partners with Yorba Linda Pet Care Center. Dr. Jatinder Dhanoa, DVM, is the partner veterinarian, and Ahide Calderon, RVT, gives walk-in vaccines at the kennel on Wednesdays and weekends, with Wednesday exams by appointment. If your pet is missing a required vaccine, it can be given here before the stay.

Required vaccinations

Written proof from your veterinarian is required for all pets' vaccines. All pets in our care must be on a flea and tick preventative.

Before check-in

  • Skip food for 4 hours before check-in. It reduces stress and the chance of an upset stomach.
  • Bring your dog on a leash and your cat in a carrier for drop-off and pickup.
  • Toys and treats are welcome during the stay and help your pet feel secure.
  • You are the expert on your pet. Tell us about any behaviors, conditions or concerns, medical, behavioral or safety, that could affect your pet's stay. The goal is a healthy, happy stay for your pet and peace of mind for you.

Boarding questions

How much is boarding per night?
Dogs under 40 lb are $42 a night, dogs 40 lb and over are $46, and cats are $30. One playtime a day is included. During holiday and seasonal peaks the rate is $5 more per dog per day.
Which vaccines does my dog need?
Rabies, a Distemper/Parvo combo, and Bordetella given within the last 6 months, with written proof from your veterinarian. If your dog is missing one, vaccines are available here on Wednesdays and weekends.
How old does a puppy have to be?
At least 4 months, with Rabies, the complete 3-set Distemper/Parvo series and Bordetella, all given at least 2 weeks before the stay.
When is checkout?
Pick up by 1:00 PM and that day is not charged. After 1:00 PM the day is charged. If your pet is groomed on pickup day, that day's boarding is not charged at all.
Can my two pets share?
Yes. Pets sharing one accommodation pay the regular rate for the first pet and $4 off each night for the second.
What should I bring?
A leash for your dog or a carrier for your cat, any medications in their original containers, and toys or treats if you like. Bedding is provided on request. Please skip food for 4 hours before check-in.
